Longer blurb
Tobermore plays folk that stays with you long after the music fades away. Five musicians, five voices, nine instruments — woven together into a sound that feels inevitable.
Rein anchors the music on guitar, Marinus adds the warmth of the double bass, while Herco, Rolf and Vincent move between tinwhistles, low whistles, Irish flutes, fiddle, mandolin, melodeon and bodhrán with the quiet fluency of people for whom the instrument is no longer something they play, but something they speak through. And because every one of them sings, the voices don’t rise above the music — they grow from within it.
The repertoire is not assembled by chance. These are arrangements that breathe, Irish tunes that stomp or haunt or ache, old time songs that slip past your defences before you’ve thought to raise them. Bold where it counts, tender where it matters.
When the last chord fades, the room holds its breath. That silence — that’s Tobermore.
